What is a 'Seed Library' anyways?

The idea behind a seed library is very like that of a traditional library that loans out books. A seed library is first stocked with donated seeds, and then patrons may 'check out' any seeds they wish to try their hand at growing! We hope that you'll 'return' your seeds at the end of the growing season by bringing some of the seeds your plant produces back to the seed library. However, it isn't required that you return seeds. At the time of writing this, we have collected over 300 varieties of vegetable, herb, and flower seeds to share with our community. You can stop by the Portland Public Library to see the seeds anytime the library is open. The seed library is located in the office of the Operations Manager, who is happy to assist in 'checking out' any seeds!
